Steve Williams is a Past President (2005-6) of the Royal Instituion of Chartered Surveyors and a founding partner of the New York-based valuation advisory practice, Williams-Murdoch, Inc.
Primarily a valuation specialist, Steve’s 40-year career on all five Continents has included senior roles with Donaldsons (now DTZ), Landauer and Jones Lang LaSalle, providing investment advisory services to the cross-border, securitized, real estate markets. On this topic and in the wake of the 2007 sub-prime tremors, he has authored the text “Facing the Global Challenge.”
In the field of education, Steve is a visiting lecturer at Duke University and an external examiner at MIT and Georgia State University. A national USPAP instructor in the US and a former Chair of the US Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB), Steve holds an Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University.
A practising MAI since 1988, Steve is a regular presenter at real estate investment conferences, a Freeman of the City of London and a member of London’s Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors. Away from professional work, Steve and his wife Karen enjoy hiking, music and spending time with their three grown children.
